How information shared through quote requests, messages and account signups is collected, used and protected. Last updated July 2026.
TheOrbitNest does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Information is collected only when it is submitted directly through a form on this site or sent by phone or email. A quote request typically involves a name, an email address, a phone number and details about the property such as its address, square footage, roof age and construction type.
Account signups also store a password in an encrypted form. Messages sent through the contact form store whatever text is written in them, along with the subject line and the return address supplied.
The details supplied are used to prepare and deliver home insurance quotes, to answer questions about limits and exclusions, and to keep an existing policy or claim moving forward. Uses are limited to the following purposes.
A phone number is used for text messages only where consent has been given during signup. Service messages cover quote confirmations, coverage updates, policy reminders and follow ups on a submitted request. Marketing messages cover home insurance plans, protection options and policy offers.
Consent for marketing messages is never a condition of buying anything. Replying STOP to any message ends further texts to that number, and replying HELP returns support information. Standard message and data rates may apply, and frequency may vary.
This site uses a small number of cookies to keep pages working correctly, to remember a signed in session and to measure which pages get visited. Analytics data is looked at in aggregate form, meaning page counts and general traffic patterns rather than the browsing history of a named individual.
Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or cleared through their settings. Blocking them entirely may prevent forms and account access from working as intended.
Information is shared only where it is needed to deliver the service requested. That can include insurance carriers preparing a quote, adjusters and contractors working an active claim, and the technical providers that host this site or deliver its email and text messages.
Every provider handling information on behalf of this site is expected to protect it and to use it solely for the task assigned. Information may also be disclosed where a law, subpoena or court order requires it.
Quote details and policy records are kept for as long as the relationship stays active and afterwards for the period required by insurance and tax record rules. Contact form messages are kept only as long as they remain useful for answering a question or resolving an issue.
Records that no longer serve a purpose and carry no retention requirement are deleted or made anonymous.
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards protect the information held, including encrypted connections for anything submitted through this site, encrypted password storage and restricted access to stored records.
No method of transmission or storage can be described as perfectly secure. If a breach affecting personal information is ever confirmed, notice will be given as required by applicable law.
Requests concerning personal information can be made at any time using the contact details in section 11. Depending on where a person resides, the available options include the following.
This site and its forms are intended for adults aged 18 or older who reside in the United States. Information is not knowingly collected from anyone under that age. If such information is discovered on file, it will be removed promptly once identified.
This policy may be revised when practices change or when a legal requirement makes an update necessary. The revised version replaces the previous one on the date shown at the top of this page, and continued use of the site after that date signals acceptance of the current version.
Questions about this policy or about the information held on a specific file can be sent using any of the details below.
